In 1955 Rauschenberg made a "Combine Painting" using his own bed. As so much of what I do can be traced back to the ground breaking work of Bob, I felt a need to show this heritage and combine it with that of the classical female nude, so prevalent in paintings history. Self Portrait in Bob's Bed is the result.
